Mi 9, Mi Mix 4 to be most innovative Xiaomi phones ever, but should Indians care?

first_imgWhen it comes to innovation Xiaomi hasn’t very good at like Vivo or Samsung. But looks like the company is soon going to change its strategy and concentrate on bringing innovation it the consumers. 2018 has been a great year for Xiaomi, but the company is working to make 2019 even better. Xiaomi already has several phones in the pipeline for next year, now there are two new additions to the list. They are the successor to the Mi 8 and Mi Mix 3 aka Mi 9 and the Mi Mix 4. As the traditions go like, both the Mi 9 and Mi Mix 4 will be launching in 2019, but the question is should Indians be excited?Well, not really. This is because the Mi Mix 3 and Mi 8 never made it to India, and this increases the chances for Mi Mix 4 and Mi 9 to also not hit the Indian shores. This is one reason why Indians shouldn’t be very excited when if the Mi Mix 4 and Mi 9 are going to be Xiaomi’s most innovative phones ever. Another reason why the Mi Mix 4 and Mi 9 might not come to India because of the wide popularity of the affordable Redmi phones and Mi Android One phones like Mi A2 and Mi A3. In fact the popularity of the Redmi phones has made Xiaomi the top phone brand in India. There’s, however, no official information from Xiaomi on the coming of Mi Mix 4 and Mi 9 India launch.According to a research note from GF Securities of Hong Kong, the Mi Mix 4 and Mi 9 are already in the works and will go official very soon. The report didn’t reveal the launch timeline of the phones but what it did reveal will excite the Xiaomi fans. The Mi Mix 4 and Mi 9 are going to sport three cameras on the back panel and will be powered by Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon 855 chipset.advertisementThe report notes that the Mi 9 will be the first Xiaomi phone to have triple cameras on the back, which also otherwise mean that the Mi 9 will be launching before the Mi Mix 4. The report also reveals that one of the three cameras on the Mi Mix 4 will have a periscope lens, which will basically let users have great optical zoom. Not just that the report also notes that the Mi Mix 4 might have a foldable screen – but Xiaomi is still seemingly in a dilemma whether to go for such a screen or not. Furthermore, the Mi 9 is expected to also have a 5G variant.ALSO READ | No, Xiaomi has not increased India prices of Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 6A and Mi Air Purifier 2SALSO READ | Poco F2 could be coming soon, gets spotted on Geekbench with some key specsALSO READ | OnePlus 6T gets cheaper in India for limited period, here’s how you can avail the offerlast_img read more
