Constitutional obligation of GECOM to fulfil

first_imgDear Editor,I want to reiterate that GECOM should, at any given moment, be ready to hold elections in 90 days. This is a constitutional obligation of GECOM to fulfil. The President should not be waiting on GECOM for a date. The President should set a date based on the Constitution and GECOM should meet that requirement unless the Opposition and Government come to an agreement in Parliament (2/3 majority) that extends the 90 days.Guyanese should no longer fall to the excuses of GECOM and this Government.Yours truly,Hemendra Ramdattlast_img
