GLENDALE, Ariz. — Since completing his collegiate career at Arizona State in 2010, Kerry Taylor has worn a lot of different NFL uniforms. The former Hamilton High star has donned the jerseys of the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings. However, Taylor hasn’t been able to suit up most Sundays.Such is the plight of the practice squad player — a role Taylor has known all too well. After New England released him from the practice squad last September, Taylor hooked on with the Arizona Cardinals and even got the chance to dress for the season finale against the 49ers, although he didn’t play in the game. Grace expects Greinke trade to have emotional impact Comments Share Former Cardinals kicker Phil Dawson retires Derrick Hall satisfied with D-backs’ buying and selling Top Stories – / 13 Taylor has looked good in training camp thus far, and notices something different with this camp as opposed to the others he’s participated in.“This is the first camp where I’ve been given a real opportunity,” Taylor said Tuesday. “The numbers have been in my favor this time around and I’ve just got to make the most of the opportunity. I feel really comfortable with the offense and I have a good opportunity here to make things happen.”The Cardinals released their first preseason depth chart Monday, and Taylor is listed as the fourth receiver behind veterans Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Roberts and second-year pro Michael Floyd. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the 24-year-old has been sidelined the last two days with a minor hamstring injury. As far as the depth chart, Taylor isn’t all that concerned about where he is on the coaching staff’s pecking order right now.“I don’t really worry about that stuff,” he said. “I just try to come out every day and work as hard as I can. Numbers change, people are going to be here, people aren’t going to be here, so hopefully I’ll still be in the same spot when camp ends.” The 5: Takeaways from the Coyotes’ introduction of Alex Meruelo One way to ensure that he’ll make the final 53-man roster is to impress in the preseason games. Head coach Bruce Arians mentioned Taylor as a player who could possibly return in time for the Cardinals’ preseason opener Friday in Green Bay against the Packers.“It’s one of those things where if it was a regular game, it might be a little different. You never know what the training staff wants you to do,” he said. “I’m just trying to get back as fast as a I can, but making smart decisions at the same time.”
Former Cardinals kicker Phil Dawson retires TEMPE, Ariz. — The last time Sean Weatherspoon took the field for a regular season NFL game was Dec. 15, 2013. He made one tackle before leaving with a knee injury that cost him the remainder of the year, and then the following offseason he ruptured an Achilles tendon during an OTA practice.Needless to say, getting out on the field Sunday for the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 1 matchup with the New Orleans Saints carries some added significance for the former Atlanta Falcon. Top Stories Derrick Hall satisfied with D-backs’ buying and selling Arizona Cardinals’ Sean Weatherspoon (55) walks past Damond Smith (42) during an NFL football organized team activity Tuesday, June 9, 2015, in Tempe, Ariz. (AP Photo/Ross D. Franklin) Grace expects Greinke trade to have emotional impact “It’s fun,” Weatherspoon said. “I thought I’d be preparing for Drew Brees last year Week 1 and I wasn’t. So I’m just taking it one day at a time and coming out here getting from my coach and just continuing to work, get more reps in practice and just having fun with it.“I’m just going to be preparing to go out there and do whatever they ask me to do on defense. I’m just thankful.”Weatherspoon signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals with the idea that he could provide the team some impact play at a position of need while rehabilitating his image and reputation in the NFL. It’s not that he is viewed as an unproductive player — he has amassed 336 total tackles, eight sacks, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in 47 games as a pro — but rather, he has understandably been seen as a guy who just could not stay healthy. He dealt with a hamstring injury for most of training camp, finally getting on the field and making his preseason debut last week against the Denver Broncos. He played into the third quarter of that game, finishing with three tackles.Weatherspoon said it felt great to play football again, and for the Cardinals, getting the former first-round pick healthy will add to a linebacker group that enters the season with some question marks. The 5: Takeaways from the Coyotes’ introduction of Alex Meruelo Comments Share “It’s great, you see him running around starting to play, he’s getting his confidence back, getting his game legs going, got more and more snaps as the week went on,” defensive coordinator James Bettcher said of what it means to have ‘Spoon back on the field. “All that does is it just helps us in a rotation with guys. Helps with depth overall, and he’s going to have some packages. He’s going to be in there rolling and playing.”Cardinals coach Bruce Arians, in fact, said Weatherspoon is slated to be a backup in about six packages and a starter in another, meaning he will have a “major role” in the team’s effort Sunday against the Saints.Weatherspoon, though, is less concerned about how much he will be play than he is about just being able to. It’s been a while.“I’m ready for whatever,” he said. “That’s it.”

The 5: Takeaways from the Coyotes’ introduction of Alex Meruelo “Never does it finish happily for him,” Reddick said of opposing QBs.He sprinted 10 yards in 1.64 seconds and pushed through 1,500 pounds of heavy bags in 1.36 seconds. The heavy bags time was the fastest that Sports Science had recorded in the last five combines, they said. The staffers also recorded Reddick producing 2,000 microvolts of electricity in his legs, so if you were hoping that the Cardinals would draft an electric player on defense, well, they did — literally. The “Sports Science” folks project the 6-foot-1, 237-pound linebacker’s ceiling to be similar to five-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison. Reddick better hope he lives up to the hype, because he’s going to owe those television producers some money for a new crash test dummy. When asked whether he felt bad about hitting the dummy by Bickley and Marotta on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, Reddick replied, “Not at all, not at all.” Comments Share Before the Cardinals selected Temple linebacker Haason Reddick in the NFL Draft on Thursday, he appeared on ESPN’s “Sports Science” and turned some heads.Or, in the case of a crash test dummy, he knocked a head loose from its body. The No. 13 overall draft selection told host John Brinkus that in Temple’s 14 games last year, the opposing starting quarterback finished the game only twice. Maybe that was partly because of Reddick’s explosive speed and power. Now that doesn’t mean that they don’t want Sam (Bradford) to play right now and have a great season, it’s just that we know this guy is the future.”Related LinksGov. Doug Ducey talks Bradford-Rosen debate, stadiums and Arizona sportsQB Josh Rosen will play ‘when the time is right,’ Cardinals GM saysArizona Cardinals defense may have to trigger first win of seasonBradford faced two tough defenses to start the season with Washington and Los Angeles. Both teams finished top-four in passes defended last season and are headlined by star defensive backs Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters and Josh Norman. The Cardinals’ difficult schedule will continue on Sunday when they face a Chicago defense that leads the NFL in sacks through two games.Still, Bradford’s role with the Cardinals is threatened by the young gun waiting in the background. There’s no telling when Rosen’s professional journey will begin, but the window is opening for a sooner opportunity with Bradford struggling. Through Bradford’s first two starts, the Cardinals rank dead last in both first downs and third down conversions with 19 and 4 respectively. “[Rosen] is the guy that we expect to lead our franchise for the next decade or so, so when does that era start,” Warner said. “You’re caught between wanting to play great football but also knowing if you have one of those games where you’re trying to play confident and things just don’t go your direction. It could easily not be your fault, right? Now Sam’s in a tough spot to figure out how to play football now with the guys around him and the situation that he’s in so he can continue to play and do what this team needs him to do to win.”Rosen has yet to log any minutes for Arizona in the regular season, but he connected on 16-of-29 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown through two preseason games. Bradford will likely retain the starting position in the near future, but the team’s recent struggles may force head coach Steve Wilks’ into a change of direction moving forward. This winter to celebrate the upcoming 100th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s first visit to Rome, Rocco Forte’s Hotel de Russie has created a one-of-a-kind opportunity to view some of the Spanish painter’s work in an intimate setting without going to a museum.Picasso and poet Jean Cocteau first stayed at Hotel de Russie in February 1917 when preparing to stage the first ever Cubist ballet. During his three-month stay in Rome, Picasso enjoyed the heritage of the city and immediately became part of Rome’s vibrant artistic scene, as guests will discover through this exclusive experience. The friends occupying adjoining rooms (what is now the Picasso Suite) would lean out of the windows to pick oranges from the garden. Since this time the hotel has quietly built up a small collection of his work. The first exhibit, which is currently on display features a collection of ceramics Picasso created when he was living in Provence; the second, from 20 January to 28 February 2017, will consist of a collection of engravings called “La Célestine”: a series of dry-points, etchings and aquatints that illustrate the 16th-century satirical tragedy attributed to the Spanish author Fernando de Rojas. For Picasso lovers wanting more, guests of Hotel de Russie can embark on a tour taking local cultural spots such as Via Margutta, Piazza di Spagna, Trinità dei Monti, Villa Medici, as well as an insider-only visit to the studio Picasso worked from in Via Margutta, just a few steps away from the hotel. And of course the Picasso Suite.Recently refurbished by Olga Polizzi, the Picasso Suite stands as a memory of the artist’s time spent in the Eternal City. Inspired by his signature style, the suite is decorated in cheerful yellow and purple tones, with lithographs and Picasso folio books, handcrafted tapestry cushions and some of his most famous paintings printed on pillows.

Archaeological finds possibly dating from the 13th century have been discovered during roadworks in Limassol’s old town, the antiquities department said on Monday.“Foundations of architectural remains of a monumental medieval building have been found on Ayias Theklis street,” archaeological officer Giannis Violaris told the Cyprus Mail. The roadworks in the old town are a €2.5 million plus VAT project to widen the roads surrounding the marina to four lanes, two in each direction, starting from Commandarias street until Siafi and Kioproulouzate streets.“It didn’t come as a surprise that we found these antiquities, it is an area rife with history as it is so close to the castle. We were prepared for this.”Stratigraphy is the next step the antiquities department will take, trying to discover if there are older archaeological finds under the most recently discovered ones that could be from an older time.“The ones we have found are most likely from the Middle Ages. There could be something underneath that from earlier,” Violaris said.Once the studies are completed, a decision will be taken as to what should be done. However Violaris believes the section will probably be backfilled and protected – meaning that instead of covering the findings with asphalt for the road, it will be covered with sand so it can still be used as a road.“It is a very difficult location, it is on a popular street cars use.”In the meantime, contractors are continuing their work by moving on to other streets until the antiquities department wraps up its work.“Our work won’t affect the project. Now if something important is discovered though and we will need three months, of course we will have to do that. The right course of action will be taken depending on what we find,” Violaris said.Thasos Aphanis, Limassol district officer of the public works department told the Cyprus Mail “works will still go on for the project, without causing disturbance on the scheduled duration of the project.”The 18-month project, currently in its first phase aims to improve the roads connecting Franklin Roosvelt Avenue with the seaside. Undertaken by An. Christou Properties and Construction Ltd, 80 per cent of the cost is paid for by the state while the remaining 20 per cent by the Limassol municipality. A prudent fiscal policy by the government as well as deleveraging by the banks have helped place the economy on a far better footing compared with its low point of 2013, finance minister Harris Georgiades said on Thursday. In his annual lecture to the University of Cyprus on the state of the economy, the minister said 2017 would mark the third consecutive year of growth.GDP is expected to grow more than 3.5 per cent, compared with 3 per cent in 2016 and 2 per cent in 2015.Rising private consumption, as well as increases in retail turnover and construction, were among the positive trends. The unemployment rate was still high, though it had dropped compared to previous years – another indication of an economic recovery in progress, Georgiades said. But it was still a fragile recovery, and to ensure its viability government would do its part by ensuring that the state does not live beyond its means.Expenditure increases would be made only when revenues allow, so that the budget is always balanced and no new deficits are created.“There are no magic wands to turn the situation around. I do not believe in miracles or messiahs,” Georgiades noted.“But I do believe in hard work and steady steps.”You May LikeLuxury Crossover SUV I Search AdsThese SUVs Are The Cream Of The Crop. The amount of funds deposited in the Cypriot banking system dropped in March by €642.9 million to €48 billion, the lowest amount since September 2016 on extensive withdrawals by all categories of depositor coinciding with fears about the solvency of the Cyprus Cooperative Bank, the Central Bank of Cyprus said.In March, the total amount of outstanding loans fell by €156m to €48.7bn mainly on loan repayments made by other financial intermediaries, the central bank said in a statement on its website on Friday. In March, total net loan repayments made by other financial intermediaries amounted to €111.9m, reducing their overall debts to €7.9bn, the bank supervisor said. Households repaid €63.3m against their loans, which fell to €20.8bn. Banks extended €21.3m in fresh lending to non-financial corporations while the general government’s total debt to domestic commercial banks fell by €2.2bn to €750.5m.Other financial intermediaries were responsible for €208.7m in total withdrawals in March followed by households, which saw their deposits drop by €183.9m, the largest reduction since September 2014, to €28.5bn, the central bank said. Households resident on the island reduced their deposits by €199.9m to €23.3bn, which is also the largest amount withdrawn by Cypriot households since September 2014 and may be related to fears over the solvency of the Cyprus Cooperative Bank which prompted the government last month to issue €2.35bn in bonds in favour of the state-owned lender and deposit €2.5bn in cash there.Deposits held by non-financial corporations fell by €83.8m to €11bn while the government’s deposits dropped by €112.1m to €818.4m, the central bank said. In addition, the amount of funds held by insurance and pension funds at banks fell by €54.4m to below €1.9bn.In its March balance sheet published on April 26, the Central Bank of Cyprus said that claims on euro area credit institutions rose to €393,000, from €6,000 the month before. By Stelios OrphanidesThe Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) on Wednesday issued circulars cautioning supervised entities and individuals about the latest US sanctions imposed against Russian companies, enterprises and officials, and their implications.CySEC, which inter alia supervises listed companies, investment firms and fiduciary service providers, urged regulated entities to study the provisions of the sanctions implemented under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA), including the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list, and in addition “assess the extent to which the measures therein affect” them or their clients, the agency said in a statement on its website and asked regulated companies to assess the risks related to transactions involving individuals and companies included in the sanctions list.“In the case of a new (or) prospective client who is subject to sanctions, regulated entities are urged to avoid the commencement of any business relationship with such a person,” CySEC said. “In the case that a person subject to sanctions is an existing customer, regulated entities are urged to carefully examine the actions (or) measures which they may have to take,” including freezing of funds and accounts. The sanctions issued by the US Treasury against seven Russian “oligarchs,” including Bank of Cyprus’s single largest shareholder Viktor Vekselberg, 17 Russian government officials 14 companies in response to “worldwide malign activity,” prompted a similar circular by ICPAC which supervises accounting firms.“In case you come into contact with a new customer subject to sanctions, ICPAC encourages you to evaluate thoroughly the risks you may assume and the measures you will take, including avoiding even entering into a business relationship” with the customer, the association said.ICPAC also advised its members to carry out due diligence and constantly update customer data comparing their databases to sanctions lists issued by various organisations such as the United Nations or the European Union.“You are advised to remain alert for possible reports concerning new sanctions and high-risk individuals,” it continued. “Taking effective precautionary measures contains the risk of financial damages or loss of reputation”.The Cyprus Business Mail understands that the Cyprus Bar Association issued a similar circular on Thursday. In a telephone interview, Demetra Kalogerou, chairwoman of CySEC said that as a government body of an EU member state CySEC stood in no obligation of endorsing the sanctions and fining regulated companies in the case of failure to comply.“Still, we understand the seriousness of the situation after meeting other officials we thought it would be appropriate to informed regulated companies,” she said.Regulated companies, she continued, could also request for legal advice as transacting with individuals and entities subject to sanctions entails the risk of being considered in violation of US law. Receiving a legal opinion is also warranted in the cases of individuals considered as acting on behalf of persons and entities included in the sanctions list, such as in the case of members of the board of directors. The circulars were published less than a week after the Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing Marshall Billinglea held meetings about Cyprus’s efforts to combat money laundering, with officials in Nicosia, including central bank governor Chrystalla Georghadji, finance minister Harris Georgiades and foreign minister Nicos Christodoulides. You May LikeFitness Engage7 Super Foods That’ll Super Charge Your Weight LossFitness EngageUndo23minutos.comDiscover the secrets of healthy skin23minutos.comUndoTop 10 FREE Antivirus | eyesintech10 Best FREE Antivirus Software For 2018 To Protect Your PC!
